Change 4 Change

Change 4 Change is the major fundraising mechanism used by the UUCT Social Justice Team to fund our activities. A piggy bank named “Miss Piggy”, placed in the entrance foyer, beckons donations of pocket change, currency bills, and checks to fund our activities. She has funded UUCT members to attend out of town social justice events and enabled us to obtain supplies for our activities.

• In February, 2015, Change 4 Change Miss Piggy funds were used to transport 30 UUCT members and friends to and from the 50th Anniversary crossing of the Edmund Pettus Bridge at Selma, AL.

• In September, 2015 Miss Piggy funds paid UUCT dues for the 2015 annual membership in Alabama Arise, Alabama’s foremost economic justice advocacy organization.

• Miss Piggy funds have also paid the honoraria for Social Justice Team worship service guest speakers: Joe Keffer, John Wathen, and Elandria Williams.
